Students

CANTER serves riders of all ages. Currently we serve approximately 80 students from the Sierra Vista, Palominas, Tombstone, and Bisbee school districts. In addition, we offer classes to private-pay students, United States Armed Forces veterans, and participants of our Silver Saddles program. We are limited to the number of students we can take due to availability of volunteers and horses. There is a nominal fee to participate; however, we will not turn anyone away due to financial circumstances. Some scholarships may be available through generous contributions by individuals and companies throughout Cochise County.

All students are required to get a physician's approval before riding. Students are then evaluated by an instructor - in consultation with a therapist when needed - for placement in the program.
